What we do

Driven by passion for art and music, we build musical instruments and accessories decorated with various artistic techniques, from metallic leaf to oil painting and hand-drawing.

But we also do classic relic nitro finishes, including replicas of famous instruments, like John Mayer’s Black1 and Jimmy Hendrix’s Monterey.

In our creations the musical instrument becomes a work of art through an artisanal, refined and carefully detailed manufacturing.

Our story

In 2016, Mattia Franchin gives birth to Franchin Guitars, a project born from the blend of his two great passions, art and music. With artistic training himself, he soon surrounds himself with a team of artists of the Fine Arts Academy of Venice, as well as with technician luthiers.

Our brand distinguishes itself from the beginning for the quality of the metallic-leaf finishes (also in the relic version), that still today represent our workhorse finish.

Our quality

All our bodies and necks are made in Italy using a selection of the best woods available, well-seasoned and resonant. We build our pieces with our CNC machine, which guarantee a pinpoint precision and the compatibility with all equipment on the market.

We use high-quality paints, specific for stringed instruments, to highlight the sound qualities of wood.

Relic finishes are made drawing inspiration from the finest vintage pieces and taking into account the grain of the wood, thereby creating a realistic and refined effect.

Our pickups are handmade by our technician luthier Marco. They’re totally hand-wound with vintage specs.

Our custom shop

The whole finishing process is carried out in our lab in Monticello Conte Otto (near Vicenza, Italy). Every piece is unique, built with selected materials and with a refined and carefully detailed manufacturing. The processes are long and complex, but they guarantee a finish of excellent quality, indeed a feature that has always distinguished Italian-made products.

We develop every project with the aim of offering a quality instrument that blends art and music in itself.
